HantaData collects the following information:

• Email address — only if you subscribe to outbreak alerts. We store your email address to send you notifications.
• Usage analytics — we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregate usage data (pages visited, session duration, browser type). No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

We do not collect names, phone numbers, location data, or any other personal information.

Your email address is used exclusively to:

• Send outbreak alert notifications when elevated hantavirus signals are detected
• Send a welcome confirmation email upon subscription

We do not use your email for marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond outbreak alerts.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

• Resend — our email delivery provider, who processes email addresses solely to deliver messages on our behalf
• Google Analytics — which receives anonymous usage data

Subscriber email addresses are stored in a secured server-side data file on Vercel infrastructure. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Subscriber data is not exposed through any public API endpoint.

You have the right to:

• Unsubscribe — reply to any alert email with “unsubscribe” and we will remove your email within 48 hours
• Access — request a copy of any data we hold about you
• Deletion — request deletion of your email from our records

HantaData uses the following cookies:

• Language preference — stored in localStorage, not a cookie. Persists your selected UI language.
• Banner dismissal — stored in localStorage to remember if you dismissed banners.
• Google Analytics — sets cookies for anonymous session tracking (_ga, _gid).
